Questions: Can I pray for bad things to happen to people I don't like?
Ans: God taught us to pray that good things, not bad things, happen to our enemies.
Each one of us is a sinner and deserves God’s punishment. Instead, God sent His own perfect Son to die on the cross, taking the punishment of sin for those who believe in Him. God taught that we should forgive others, just as God has forgiven us . So when people do bad things to us, we should not pray that bad things happen to them but good things.
God, “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that .
